Engineering Expo: The perfect destination for SMEs in Pune

Pune is the largest auto hub of India with over
4,000 manufacturing units, only in the Pimpri-Chinchwad
region. The city houses 53 large companies with a collective
turnover of $ 1,400 million and exports worth $ 235 million.
There are about 7,000 auto ancillary units in and around
Pune. Since its launch in 2007, Engineering Expo has worked
closely with the industry and has helped the SMEs do more
business. The year 2013 will see the inflow of around Rs.
40,000 crore investments in this sector. |

Engineering Expo now also held at Rudrapur and
Ludhiana. |

North India is now becoming an emerging market
for the engineering & manufacturing industry. In
Rudrapur there is exemption from entry tax on plant &
machinery for setting up an industry or undertaking
substantial expansion. Ludhiana accounts for more than 35%
of the industrial output. It is Asia’s largest hub for
bicycle manufacturing and produces more than 50% of
India’s bicycle consumption of over 10 million per
annum. |
