Mapping solutions provider company Tom Tom today said it has partnered with handset Creator HTC to provide maps, points of interest and turn by turn directions for its range of smart phone in India. This contract marks the first consumer focused Execution of Tom Tom's map data in the rapidly growing Indian Mobile market, Tom Tom said in a statement. According to ABI Research, more than 5.2 million smart are expected to be shipped to India in 2o12 and is projected to more than triple by 2o15. "We are excited to exposit our global offerings by powering the map services for all HTC smart phone in India market," Vice President of Tom Tom(Sales and Marketing Licensing) Nuno Campos said. Headquartered in Amsterdam, Tom Tom has over three thousand five hundred employees and operates from fifty locations in thirty-five countries. Tom Tom provides consumers, enterprises, governments and auto-motive industry solutions like digital maps, traffic intelligence solution, navigation software, devices, fleet management solution and smart phone apps, among others. Tom Tom has entered India in September two thousand eleven, with its range of VIA series of Portable Navigation Devices. "India is not only a key market for HTC mobile and services, but also one of the big countries with the second largest population in the world," said Faisal Siddiqui, india htc manager, HTC India.
