A week after Dell announced acquisition of UTM vendor Sonicwall, Cyberoam has announced a trade-in of Sonicwall appliances and new partnership opportunities for Sonicwall partners and customers. Cyberoam is providing free one-year subscription on Web Content and Application, IPS and Anti-X subscriptions who trade-in Sonicwall appliances to buy Cyberoam. Sonicwall Partners with get immediate access to free training and certifications along with membership to Cyberoam’s Partner program and an access to its Partner Advantage Incentive Program, the company said. According to Cyberoam, existing Sonicwall customers can upgrade their UTM protection to Cyberoam’s identity-based UTM appliances that provides end-to-end user visibility through Layer 8 technology, keeping organizations safe from insider threats and data leakage. Explaining the reason why Sonicwall partners and customers would accept the trade-in invitation, MR.HemalPatel, CEO, Elitecore Technologies said that Dell’s focus has been on the personal computer industry so far and not on security.
“Dell’s takeover of Sonicwall business may dilute focus on the security business in the longer term. In that scenario, Sonicwall partners will have to align with vendors of a similar product folio. On the other hand, Cyberoam’s sales strategy is 100 percent driven by our channel community. We offer better margins than competition in the market. In fact, we rank third amongst UTM Industry in terms of completeness of our vision and product strategies by a prestigious product analyst Company. This makes our proposition to the Sonicwall partners more compelling.”He added that Sonicwall partners would sell all the Cyberoam products from 10 to 5,000 user category. “It is important to gain their trust and give them greater value with our alliance. We help them achieve and demonstrate competence and gain industry recognition for skills, networking and security as well as in deploying, configuring and managing the Cyberoam CR appliances through our certification programs. Recently, we categorised our partner in Platinum, Gold and Authorised category. Once the Sonicwall partners achieve the required skill sets, we will place them in their respective categories.”
