California, United States, in 2005 : Close on the heels of Google company Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt announcing the arrival of the upcoming version of Android mobile Operating System termed Ice Cream Sandwich in October or November in this year, speculations have started on the next version of google Android. According to a report citing trusted sources in 'This is My Next', Jelly Bean is the working name for next incarnation of google Android operating systems. The name follows Google's tradition of calling its Android operating systems after sweets in alphabetical order. Earlier versions of Android follow a typical order -- Cupcake 1.5, Donut 1.6, Eclair 2.1, Froyo 2.2, Gingerbread 2.3, Honeycomb 3.0 and the upcoming Ice Cream Sandwich. The report quotes industry source saying, that the "game-changing stuff" that had originally been scheduled for Ice Cream Sandwich will be being pushed to Jelly Bean. Jelly Bean could be dubbed Android 4.5 or Android 5.0, depending on the amount of features packed, says the report. Ice Cream Sandwich is expected to be a universal operating system that will work on mobile phones, tablets, TVs, and even mobile phones that transform into laptops. Among other things, the OS is likely to bring an updated application launcher, holographic user interface, interactive and new home screen widgets and a multi-tasking panel.

liferay portlet development

Deploying portlet
liferay portlet development
 liferay portal development
liferay portal assessment services

There are 2 main ways to deploy a portlet on Liferay.

1ST, but you need to allow autodeploy, you can use /liferay/deploy this is very simple: just drop in that directory your portlet (as a war file) and watch it beeing deployed on the portal.
This is the way plugins available on Liferay's SVN are deployed.

I concider it very reliable and fast. Very efficient when developing and testing your own (liferay) portlets in the field.

The second method is to use Liferay User Interface (UI). Simply log in with a user allowed to install new portlets and go to Admin > Plugins
You will find there a "Install More Portlets" button. Click on it.
There you have several options:

one is to use a local file and upload it this way to the server,
an other is download file, when you know where the porlet war file lies on the net,
and the default is to use Liferay repository, which means you are going to install a portlet part of one of the suggested online repositories.
